3 Cauliflower Recipes That Will Satisfy Your Carb Cravings

Cauliflower is a vegetable that can ensure your body many nutrients and can replace with success some of those carbs that prevent you from having a perfect body. It is rich in vitamin C and K, minerals (calcium, sodium), protein and fiber. If you don’t know how to cook it, you will be surprised to learn that it is one of the easiest to cook vegetables. You can use these ideas to prepare cauliflower.

  1. Mashes cauliflower

What you need:

  • 3 tbsp of butter;
  • 1 pound of cauliflower;
  • – ¼ tsp garlic powder
  • 2 tbsp of diced chives
  • 4 ounces dairy sour cream;
  • 2 slices of crumbled bacon or soy bits (optional)
  • 1 cup of cheddar cheese

How to prepare:

Steam the florettes of a cauliflower in a bowl with several tbsp. of water. Put them in the microwave and let them cook up to 8 minutes. Remove the water and let the vegetable rest for several minutes.

Once all the water has been drained, blend the cauliflower, adding the rest of the ingredients except for chives. Mix well until you get a paste, then add 1 tbsp. of chives, ½ cup of cheddar cheese and season with salt and pepper as you like. Eventually, cover the cauliflower with the remaining cheese and chives, put it in the microwave until the cheese has melted and your meal is ready. Enjoy your low-calorie food.

  1. Cauliflower hashbrowns

What you need:

  • 3 L-sized eggs;
  • 1 ½ tsp lemon pepper;
  • 1 pound of grated cauliflower;
  • ½ cup flour;
  • ½ tsp baking soda;
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 3 diced onions
  • 1//2 cup of Parmesan
  • 1 tsp salt

How to prepare:

Put in a bowl the grated cauliflower and cover it with salt. Let it sit for several minutes, then add the remaining ingredients and mix well.

Wrap a flat circle in baking sheet, then pour in ¼ cup of the cauliflower composition. Let it bake for about 10 minutes at 400 degrees F then turn the circle and let the hashbrown bake on the opposite side as well. Alternatively, you can use the skillet frying method.  For this procedure heat 1 tbsp. of butter or oil in a frying pan until it pops, then add ¼ cauliflower composition.

  1. Cauliflower casserole

What you need:

  • 2 minced tomatoes;
  • – 2 ½ cooked cauliflower;
  • 3 green onions;
  • 6 slices of cooked bacon;
  • 1 cup of sour cream
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • ¾ cup of cheddar cheese

How to prepare:

Before preparing the cauliflower make sure you preheat the oven at 350 degrees. Once this is done mince the cauliflower and combine it with the tomatoes, cream, garlic, half of the bacon, half of the cheese and half of the onion. Season as you like and mix well. Pour the resulting mixture in a baking dish then cover it with the remaining ingredients. Introduce the dish in the oven and let it cook for 20 minutes or as long as it is necessary to turn brown. You can season with salsa. Yummy!
